The holidays are normally a time for giving. Unfortunately, the opposite has been true for some landscaping operations around the Stuart area lately.
On Dec. 23, a burglary was reported at Kickin’ Grass in Stuart. According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, burglars cut locks to storage trailers and took $15,000 worth of equipment. Burglaries also were reported at Valley Crest Landscaping and Stuart Lawn and Garden, both located in the 3300 block of Southeast Old Dixie Highway.
At Valley Crest, more than $18,000 in weed eaters, edgers, and leaf blowers were stolen, according to the incident report. Several pieces of equipment were stolen from Stuart Lawn and Garden, which also was reported to have been burglarized during Thanksgiving weekend.
Authorities are requesting that anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 772-220-7060 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-TIPS (8477).
